UPDATE ON TUCKER: In April PAWS was notified by Tucker's family that he had tested positive for heartworms. His family faced a difficult decision as to what was the best for Tucker. Do you start a costly treatment that has no 100% guarantee for recovery or do you prevent possible suffering and end his life? Kate emails us, "We love him so much. He's only 2 years old and he sticks his head in our laps and his paw on our arms with a look that seems to say 'please give me a chance'. The decision was made, Tucker would begin months of treatment with injections, confinement, and side effects of the drugs. His new family watched as the disease robbed him of his energy and his condition was sad to witness at times during the course. Their vet warned them that the first two injections were the most dangerous and risky. Kate asked for our prayers and we held Tucker very close to our hearts.
