PAWS Online Fundraiser - Scentsy!

You are invited to PAWS Humane Society’s online fundraiser. Scentsy is the safest way to scent up your home and costs around 50% less than traditional name-brand candles. The candles have no wick, no soot, and no lead, which means no flame. No flame makes it fireproof and safe to use around our pets and children. Check out the website below for more information on the five products that Scentsy offers and help PAWS Humane Society reach our fundraising goals by placing an order. If you choose to book your own in-home ScentEvent in the following months, Latisha Buss will personally donate an additional $25 per booking to PAWS.

To make a purchase towards PAWS Fundraiser, contact me or go to:

http://www.latishabuss.scentsy.us

Once there, click on “My Open Parties”, then click on "Buy from Party" next to “PAWS Humane Society Fundraiser” to place your order.

Please note – If you'd like free shipping, please contact me directly to save the shipping cost! :)

As always, we appreciate any help you can give to the shelter! :)

Our new Isolation Building is DONE!- please check out our supply list of much needed items!

Thanks to Jeff Powell and his Eagle Project, we have a new Isolation Building. We have needed this building for such a long time and to watch the construction of it was very exciting for us!

A big thank you to Jeff's parents and all those who joined Jeff in his endeavor to make this a reality. We are very grateful!

We would like to ask your help in getting some much needed items to help complete the project so that we are able to use the building for incoming cats that need to be isolated from the rest of the cats. Many incoming cats have upper respiratory conditions, fleas, and other contagious diseases that keep them from being with the healthy cats.

These are the items that are most needed at the moment:

Cupboards- very good shape
Linoleum- new
Counter top- very good shape
Ceramic Heater
Small Refrigerator
Cat kennels
Paint
Volunteers for installation of the above items.

This building is crucial for us.

Right now the building is not in use. We need the above items to help us help the animals.

Thank you for your generosity and supporting PAWS!

Sheri Ostman and the Waverly Pet Rescue

PAWS has a very dear friend in the rescue world and her name is Sheri Ostman.  She started the Waverly Pet Rescue one year ago with the help of friends and has saved many lives. She is a true animal lover with a big heart. We would like to showcase her dedicated efforts and rescue.

The Waverly Pet Rescue is NOT A SHELTER. They are a small group of people with a sincere love for animals. The towns they live in do not have shelters so they are helping the homeless pets that have nowhere else to go. All the animals that they have will live in a loving volunteer home until adopted no matter how long that takes. They are very committed to the animals they are helping.

If you would like to adopt one of their pets, please email and Sheri will send an application. They are devoted to the animals in their care and do all they can to make sure they are placed in good homes. They require all prospective adoptions to be subject to application and interviewing before adoption approval.

No dogs will be adopted that will be kept strictly outside. They do not adopt to inside / outside homes for cats. If not already done, all animals must be spayed or neutered within 30 days of adoption.

Adoption fees are listed on each profile.

Thank you Sherri for your ongoing efforts to help our animals at PAWS find homes.

ALERT: Grapes/Raisins can be Deadly!

In a recent article in the March 2003 issue of Dog Fancy, and information from the ASPCA's Poison Control Center, has reported cases of dogs dying from kidney failure after injesting grapes or raisins.  One or two grapes are probably not a problem, but every dog reacts differently.  There is not a clear cut reason why our beloved pets are becoming ill.
Early symptoms include vomiting, loss of appetite and diarrhea.  Some progress into lethargy and abdominal pain.  Veterinary care should be sought immediately!

For more information visit www.aspca.org or check out the March 2003 issue of Dog Fancy.
